Many, but not all, of my recipes are free of dairy, eggs, gluten and some nuts to accommodate the allergies of our oldest son, Kellen. Otherwise, the ingredients I look for include fruits and vegetables that are not genetically modified and that have been grown without chemical pesticides; meat from animals that have been grass-finished and raised without hormones or antibiotics; eggs from pasture-raised chickens; and raw dairy. We seek out local food sources where possible, and we hope to grow much of our own someday. I’m also working to incorporate soaked, sprouted, cultured and fermented foods into our diet as much as possible. In short, my goal is to serve real, whole foods to my family and keep them coming back for more. I’m not all the way there yet, but I’m enjoying the journey!
